NOTICE! Your are using a "non-commercial" software, be advised of the following:
Genius Vision NVR is originally a piece of commercial software. The Community Edition software, which you are currently using, is released under non-commercial-use-only license term for free. However, if one of following is true for you, "use" of the software (including installing, operating, accessing, troubleshooting, and maintenance) is prohibited by its license (in other words, you might be using the software illegally).
- If you hire someone to "use" the software.
- If you are paid to "use" the software.
- If you assign one of your subordinate (who receives salary) to "use" the software.
- If you are an employee and you are tasked to "use" the software by your superior.
- If you bundle the software by any means with the goods or service you sell.
- If you pay for goods or service to someone who also helps you "use" this software.
Additionally, the "use" of the software that correlates to a commercial entity in anyway is prohibited. For example, the "use" this software inside a company or for a company is prohibited. This does not include non-profit organization. However, if you are hired by a non-profit organization and tasked to "use" this software (for example, an IT manager inside such organization), it is prohibited. On the contrast, if you are not paid (for example, non-paid executive or volunteers) by the non-profit organization to "use" this software, then it is permitted.
To be more specific, if any "monetary trading" occurs during the entire process of software operation lifecycle, including trading of labors, it is prohibited by the license.
Alternatively, you can purchase commercial license (http://geniusvision.net/how-to-buy.html), to avoid these non-commercial-use restrictions and the legal dilemma.
